Fly Fishing School

IN-TOWN FLY FISHING SCHOOL

Learn the sport the right way! From seasoned professionals who will help you to cultivate a strong foundation of skills. Through the school you will learn:

A basic understanding of trout and their food sources, which will lead you into different ways in which to fish a fly -- dry fly, emerger, nymph and streamer
A strong casting stroke and an understanding of how to correct your casting when things go amuck
The basic knots
Balancing your tackle, how to select and buy the right outfit
Identifying aquatic insects
Reading trout water
Where to fish and how to get started.

COST: $100 (due at time of signup) instruction fee covers use of high quality equipment and lunch.

TIME: 9:00 am to around 4:30 pm (lunch will be provided)

DATES: Saturdays in 2008: April 5; May 3; May 17; May 31; June 14; July 12; August 2; August 16; September 6; September 20; October 4; October 18.

On The Stream School

This in the follow-on to the basic In-Town Fly Fishing School.
The On-The-Stream-School is for graduates of the In-Town class and gives the student an opportunity to spend time on the water applying the topics, and basics, presented in the In-Town school.
Most of the day is spent on the water fishing and honing the skills needed to become a self-sufficient angler.
All On-The-Stream schools are held on private water. Less crowding, more individual instruction, and greater opportunity to catch and release larger trout.

Cost: $175 Price includes use of any gear you may need. Does not include transportation or lunch. Please bring food, snacks and lots of drinking water to cover a full day on the water.

Dates: Saturdays in 2008: April 19; May 24; June 28; July 26; August 23; September 27; and October 25.
