Had a chance to fish the Conejos River over the holidays and was glad I did! Green Drakes, PMD's, Stoneflies, Caddis and Red Quill were all on the water at some point. The fishing wasn't too technical, and for the most part dry/dropper would get eaten by big browns holding tight to the edges. Wading was tricky but going slow and steady I was able to see and get to rising fish for 3 days in a row. The fish averaged 14-20" and couldn't have possibly been any stronger. Overall it was an incredible weekend with some nice wild browns to hand.
