Lily Lake
Fished Lily Lake on Hwy 7 just outside of RMNP this week and it didn't let us down. Fish were very active around noon as damsels filled the air. Lily is best fished using a belly boat, however we were on foot and had to make do. Greenbacks were cruising the edges at times and feeding on a variety of insects. A size 12 Callibaetis emerger pleased them just fine as well as a Barr Damsel in a size 10. The fish weren't huge ranging from 8-11" but absolutely beautiful. If you do fish Lily Lake please fish barbless flies and return the fish to the water immediately!
