Rocky Mountain National Park

Day Two in the Park this week: Drove thru the construction on Bear Lake Road to the Fern Lake TH. From there I hiked along the stream and fished the good pocket waters and long runs. I had a tip of some good bugs going off in the afternoon so I stayed late into the evening. Turns out I was in the middle of a green drake hatch about 4:30pm. The fish loved the CDC Green Drake size 12. Other drake patterns worked well also. As the Drake hatch started to piddle out a red quill hatch started. Awesome night to be on the water in the Park. The park is a great place to be in this hot weather. Ditch your waders and go wet wade!
