WHAT HIGH WATER?????

Due to an average snow pack the San Juan River drainage as well as the Rio Grande will be experiencing a normal length of run off in 2011.

While much of the western flyfishing world will be under high, cold, murkey water Southwestern Colorado and Northern New Mexico will be doing business as usuall. The Juan will begin to increase flows from 500 cubic feet per second to 5000 on June 6th and be back to 500 by June 18th The Rio and Animas should be in good shape by June 20.

If you are a Juan veteran or have always wanted to fish one of the worlds greatest tailwaters this will be a great year to head south, with nearly 17,000, yep 17,000!!!!! rainbows and browns per mile, most over 16 inches the San Juan will be fantastic in 2011. While most anglers are looking for bass and bluegills in front range lakes and ponds we will be casting to rising fish with menu items such as Stone flies, Caddis, PMDs and Green Drakes.
