We’re excited to announce that the Mile High 25 multi-species fly fishing tournament is back for its 5th consecutive year! Get ready and get your team registered. It’s happening June 27th and 28th.
Fortunately, the bulk of the Mile High 25 has always been handled remotely. So we’re already set up for a great event in 2020. To keep with social distancing practices, the opening kick-off and closing awards events will be handled a little differently.
What Is the Mile High 25?
In case you’re not already familiar with the Mile High 25, let us bring you up to speed. Teams of two anglers have two days to target a list of 25 eligible fish species on fly fishing tackle only. At the end of two days, the team that has checked off the most species wins. For details on the rules, check out the website at MileHigh25.com.
It’s perhaps the most fun you can have in two days of fishing! Mile High 25 teams may travel anywhere in the state of Colorado and fly fish any public water in search of the 25 species. Of course all Colorado Parks and Wildlife regulations apply. It can be a wild two days, traveling from bass ponds, to beaver ponds, rivers, lakes and reservoirs, all in search of Colorado’s varied fish species on the fly.
Teams use the Cinebody mobile app to record and submit fish entries. The duo must film a short video clip that clearly shows the identifiable fish, the control card and a healthy release.
What’s Different This Year?
In order to stick with social distancing guidelines, registered teams will be able to pick up their control cards here at the fly shop before 6pm on Friday, June 26th. If you come in the shop, please bring a mask. We are limiting the number of customers to five at a time. Team members can also call for curbside pick up.
The events ceremony will be held virtually this year. Everyone will be able to join us for the live awards presentation on Sunday, June 28th at 6:30 p.m. on Instagram Live. For the full weekend itinerary, please visit MileHigh25.com.
How do I register?
First you need a teammate. All teams must consist of two anglers. Registration is $250 per team ($125 per angler). You can register here.
All registered teams will need to pick up their control card from the shop by 6pm on Friday, June 26th. This is also your chance to ask questions and for help using the Cinebody app. Just remember that the fly shop is currently limited to no more than five customers at a time.
