Anglers All Travel Updates and Plans for 2021

For obvious reasons, we’ve had much of our fly fishing travel program on hold. But as we look forward to new beginnings in 2021, and with international destinations beginning to reopen, we’re starting to get excited about revisiting some of our favorite places on earth.

As we look to travel options in 2021 and beyond, we’re remaining tightly focused on logistics, safety and host-country protocols. Additionally, we want to highlight the fact that 2021 and 2022 trips are fully refundable up to 90 days prior to departure.

.

With that in mind, it’s time to start working on those next adventures. Two destinations specifically on our minds are with our friends in Patagonia – Rio Manso Lodge and Cinco Rios Lodge.

These trips are more than a year away. But that’s not too soon to begin planning for one of these incredible destinations. And remember that when you book travel with Anglers All, you’ll get a 15% VIP shop discount on in-store and online purchases. That means if you book now, you’ll have a shop discount for more than a year!

RIO MANSO

“Years ago my wife and I came across Rio Manso Lodge, in what we considered to be the perfect combination of a couples-friendly location and world-class angling destination,” Anglers All travel coordinator, Andrew Pulford, recently told us. “Rio Manso is located in Patagonia’s oldest and largest National Park, the Nahuel Huapi National Park.

.

“We enjoyed some time in Bariloche, where we went hiking, checked out the food and wine scene that Argentina is famous for,” Andrew remembered. “Once we got our bearings and arrived at Rio Manso Lodge, everything immediately exceeded expectations. The staff is extremely friendly, always ready to go above and beyond for their guests.”

That readiness to do what it takes is one of the things we love about Rio Manso. Guides are flexible and prepared to visit different waters based on angler’s requests. Additionally, the staff is always ready to take folks out for non-angling activities like waterfall hikes, horseback riding in the National Park, or condor watching.

.

“It’s rare to find yourself at Rio Manso with a lodge full of first time guests,” Andrew added. “This is a location that anglers and non-anglers alike tend to visit repeatedly over the years.”

We have reserved the week of November 28th to December 5th, 2021 at Rio Manso Lodge. We picked this specific week to target the famed dragon fly hatch. During this timeframe, anglers will have opportunities at the area’s trophy Brook Trout, oversized rainbows and beautiful browns.

“Seeing a colorful Argentine brook trout over 20 inches crush a dragon fly on the surface, is something all traveling anglers should get to experience!” Andrew told us.

.

Voted International Lodge of the year in 2015, Rio Manso is priced at $5,200 for a full week of angling and $3,100 for non-angling. Single days of fishing can be added to the non-angling package for $275 per day. This is great for guests who only want to fish a few days. Single and double-occupancy rooms are available. There is no up-charge for a single angler in their private room with a shared guide.

This trip includes meals, alcohol and lodging, as well as pickup and drop off from Bariloche. The angling package includes six full days of guided fishing. Non-angling activities are also included.

CINCO RIOS

When you think of a dedicated trout lodge deep in the heart of Patagonia, that’s Cinco Rios. Tucked against the Andes Mountains in Chile, Cinco Rios is within striking distance of great trout streams, turquoise blue lakes, spring creeks and coastal rivers. The diversity of fishing in the Coyhaique region of Chile is stunning. You could fish at Cinco Rios every year for the rest of your life and never do the same trip twice.

.

What’s more, Cinco Rios offers three completely different lodging options. In addition to the Cinco Rios main lodge, anglers can opt to spend time at the more rustic Estancia del Zorro, a working Patagonian ranch. Even more adventurous are the “Game Changers”. These fully equipped Sprinter vans have beds, a kitchen and satellite TV, allowing anglers to reach the most remote backcountry waters.

“From deep in the backcountry to the luxury of the main lodge, this trip is fully customizable” Andrew explained. “This team of ambitious, trout-hungry guides are willing to take your experience to the next level, constantly exploring new waters and experiences that only Chilean Patagonia has to offer.

“The 2021-2022 season will offer the renowned, bi-annual Cantaria Beetle hatch as well,” Andrew Added. “This gives anglers the opportunity to target trophy brown trout with oversized dry fly patterns.”

.

This trip is customizable for any individual, couple or group, and starts at $5,495 per angler. This includes meals, alcohol, lodging, and six full days of guided fishing. Located just outside Balmaceda, Coyhaique, Cinco Rios is easily accessible with a direct flight from Santiago.
