Fly Tying Video: The Miracle Nymph with Ben Baxter

Anglers all over the country can thank our notoriously finicky, South Platte trout for having inspired some of Fly Fishing’s most successful patterns over the years. One of those time-tested patterns is the Miracle Nymph, first developed by Ed Marsh. Anglers have relied on Marsh’s midge pattern to fool trout for more than 40 years.

 Also the inventor of the classic Buckskin, Marsh’s minimalistic style has been the inspiration for many subsequent fly tyers. While simple and quick to tie, the slim profile of the Miracle Nymph makes it perfect for tailwater fishing – or any situation where clear water and picky trout are present.

Thorax: Veevus 16/0 Black

Finish: Solarez Bone Dry
