Tying Greg Garcia’s New Mother’s Day Sally

If you subscribe to the Anglers All YouTube channel, you may have already seen our latest Fly Tying Fridays video. This time, we’re tying a brand new pattern that was developed by our own, Greg Garcia. Check out the new video, as Greg shows us how to tie his newest pattern that’s now available from Umpqua – the Mother’s Day Sally.

The Mother’s Day Sally is a new take on Greg’s popular Mother’s Day Caddis pattern. This yellow stonefly imitation has that same sleek, buggy look that we love about the Mother’s Day Caddis, plus an orange bead for the egg sac, pale yellow dubbing, and a little bit of flash beneath the bleached stimulator hair wing.

As we look forward to the summer months in Colorado, it’s the perfect time to start stocking up fly boxes with yellow sallies. This will be a great summer pattern to keep in your box for when these little stoneflies begin making an appearance.

For the full list of materials or to purchase this new Umpqua pattern, take a look at our Mother’s Day Sally page. Here you’ll also be able to review the video, and find links to the materials, including Tiemco dry fly hooks, Killer Caddis Beads, Superfine Dubbing, Flashabou and Whiting dry fly hackle. If you need help getting started, don’t hesitate to visit us at the fly shop or call us at 303-794-1104.

In the meantime, take a look at the new video as Greg walks us through the Mother’s Day Sally. Then please take a moment to like the video and subscribe to our Anglers All YouTube Channel
