Our Top 5 “How To” Videos

Over the past several years we’ve had fun creating all kinds of new video content for the Anglers All YouTube Channel. And since we’ve been spending more time at home, eagerly anticipating our next fly fishing adventures, we thought it would be a good time to revisit some of the most-watched videos.

Of course we hope that each of the “how to” and instructional videos on our YouTube Channel are helpful and informative. But these 5 videos have been by far the most viewed and commented on.

By the way, if you don’t already subscribe to our YouTube Channel, please take a moment and do it. You’ll be the first to know about new videos and you can help us bring you more useful fly fishing topics in the future.

Here are our top five “how to” videos:

1. How To: Basic Nymph Rig Setup

With more than 50,000 views, our most popular video ever uploaded to our YouTube Channel is this rigging video. Ben Baxter walks us through the setup of a basic nymph rig, from the flies all the way up to the indicator.

2. How To Double Haul in Under 5 Minutes

Our second most popular video with more than 49,000 total views, is a great introduction to double haul casting. Instructor Doug Andrews offers some hard-hitting tips in less than five minutes that will help anyone learn to double haul.

3. How-to setup a Trout Spey with Simon Gawesworth

In this video, we took a few minutes with spey casting instructor, Simon Gawesworth from Rio Products, to outline the basics of trout spey fishing. If you’ve ever wanted to learn how to swing a spey rod for trout, this is a great video to get started.

4. Fly Tying: The Darth Baetis

Our most popular fly tying video features Anglers All manager, Greg Garcia, tying his Umpqua signature pattern, the Darth Baetis. In the video, Greg takes us carefully step by step through this pattern, with some great tips along the way.

5. How To: DIY Streamer Leaders

Did you know that an old chewed up leader makes a great streamer leader? In one of our top 5 most popular videos, our friend Doug Garvey shows us how to make a DIY streamer leader, including tying a perfection loop for the fly line connection.
