Two Chances to Cure Your Insatiable Need for Tarpon

Well, winter has finally caught up with us here in the Denver area. We’ve been spoiled this winter with mild weather and awesome fishing along the Front Range. Now that frigid temps have arrived, our minds turn toward warmer destinations…

If you’ve got a need for tropical weather and perhaps the opportunity to target large migratory tarpon, we’ve got two awesome ideas.

First, we still have spots available on our annual shop hosted trip to Turneffe Flats Lodge in Belize. Scheduled during prime Grand Slam season, this trip offers the chance to cast to monster migratory tarpon, plus permit and bonefish. This year’s trip is June 16-23 and includes six full days of guided fishing, lodging, great meals and airport transfers.

For guests who don’t wish to fish all day long, Turneffe Flats Lodge offers an awesome Atoll adventure package that includes incredible adventures like snorkeling and manatee watching. This option makes the Turneffe Flats trip a great one for couples.

The Turneffe Flats trip is perfect for experienced saltwater anglers or beginners. The guides here are excellent teachers and are adept at accommodating a wide range of skill levels, one of the many reasons we love this trip. For details, please check out the Turneffe Flats Travel Page or give us a call at 303-794-1104.

Next, we’ve got a great opportunity for anyone interested in fishing the famed Florida Tarpon Migration. Paul Ray of Eleven Experience is a very experienced and talented tarpon guide.

According to Paul, “You have to coax a 30- 50-year-old swimming dinosaur that weighs upwards of 150 pounds to eat a tiny fly. That’s where the magic is for me…”

“With a perfect cast and with a little twitch, wiggle, and luck, he swims over to it and nonchalantly opens and closes his mouth and moves on,” Paul goes on to say. “Then all hell breaks loose. He usually has the standing line from the deck of the skiff onto the reel, and is halfway to Mexico before you know it. The experience is simply amazing, and I’m lucky to guide clients in some of the greatest tarpon and snook fisheries on the planet.”

This experience during the Florida tarpon migration is simply incredible and we have prime dates available. For more information on this trip, please come visit us at the fly shop or give us a call at 303-794-1104. You can also email Andrew, our travel coordinator at
