Learning to cast farther is fun, it reaches more fish, but it also improves your shorter casts, accuracy, and dealing with wind! Participants will discover three key elements of distance and understand their importance: loop control, line speed, and line carry. You will learn and perform practice drills for each element that will help all of your casting. Approximately half of the time will be spent learning double haul which will include more practice drills you can take away from the clinic. Participants should bring an 8-9 ft., 5 wt. or greater fly rod with floating fly line (preferably bright colored) and a 7.5 ft. 0X-2X leader.
The instructor, Jonathan Walter, is an International Federation of Fly Fishers Master Certified Casting Instructor and has over 20 years of teaching and fishing experience.
