Weight for it - Rio Fly

This rainbow scud-like attractor with a tungsten bead is a great searching pattern under a dropper or deep down on your Euro Rig.

"When you visit fly shops around the West, you will find shops that sell Rainbow colored scud/sowbug patterns and they seem to have an insatiable appetite for them. The Weight For It started off as a caddis larva pattern with a black bead to serve as the head of the worm. But we found that doing that same pattern with rainbow scud dubbing and changing the bead allowed this fly to find new opportunities. By tying it in three bead colors, we found that anglers could dial in for their fishery. The bead also brings out matching color in the dubbing. The Orange bead makes the dubbing appear more orange. The Pink Bead, more pink and the Silver bead more gray. These three colors make for ideal winter scud/sowbug fishing. The bead is also tungsten, which we find helpful in sight fishing since you can get the fly in front of the fish faster and before the current messes with the drift. Patrick Kilby – RIO’s Fly Manager
