Fly Fishing Reels
Fly reels, way more then just a line holder!
While you might hear people say, a fly reel is just a line holder when fishing for trout, it is an absolute must have for fishing larger species, like muskie and steelhead in freshwater and permit, bonefish, tarpon, and redfish in saltwater. A good quality reel will last through many many fishing seasons, and serves an important roll to balance the entire fly rod system. Some reels are made using a casting process while others are machined out of a single piece of steel. Some reel models like those offered by Abel, Galvan, and Sage do not have an adjustable drag and are called Click and Pawl reels. Others from Abel, Galvan, Sage, Tibor, Bauer, Hatch, Ross, Lamson, Redington, Orvis, and TFO have adjustable tension drag systems. Some reels that are designed for the biggest fish in the harshest salt water environments have a totally sealed drag. Stop by or call to see our huge selection of fly reels.
