As the snow flies, and the temps stay below frozen guide level, many of us anglers are quietly adding species, countries, experiences and adventure to our bucket lists. While we finish the thread wraps on those size 24 tailwater specials, there is a good chance we are day dreaming about size 8 hopper patterns and 3/0 baitfish flies being eaten in full force by predatory fish.
A trip of a lifetime can be something different for every angler. Our Travel Coordinator works hard to make each of those lifetime adventures a reality for our customers and friends. From all those anglers we have sent out, one thing always rings true, the people and the accommodations. Yes, the fishing was epic, yes the scenery was wild and remote, but the staff, the food and the feeling of being at your second home, if only for a week, is what you will remember.
El Encuentro
Trophy Brooke trout and oversized rainbows throughout the Argentine Patagonia landscape via foot, drift boat, and raft is a great way to spend the 2022 / 2023 season ahead. As borders have recently reopened, Anglers All travel coordinator Andrew Pulford took the opportunity to make a trip south to visit friends, and spend time in the Chubut Province of Argentina, soaking up the sun, food, and of course, the world class fishery throughout the region. With 3 lodges just hours apart, the opportunity to fish a huge variety of water through the Chubut Province of Patagonia did not disappoint! With the primary lodge located on the banks of the Rio Grande outside of Esquel, float days and opportunities seem endless. Oversized dry flies to the banks, or swinging small streamers were a perfect start to the week of wet wading, and the hospitality of a world class lodge. Moving through the region Andrew was able to spend his time enjoying, and fishing a huge variety of landscapes, in and around the Brooke Trout Base Camp, as well as Valle Del Carrileufu Lodge, all owned and operated by El Encuentro.
“Anytime wet wading in 80 degree weather is an option in our cold winter months here in Colorado, i'm alway’s in for a trip down south.We had days of consistent 20+ inch Brooke trout, as well as some days working for a single trophy fish. This type of trip, regardless of how one spends their week, whether it is at one lodge, or making it a multi lodge week through El Encuentro, provides endless opportunity in one of the largest varieties of water I have personally seen, or heard of. The fishing is world class, as is the staff, but the feeling of family, and the hospitality of the El Encuentro team is what certainly made the trip so unique. After the inability to make the trip last year, the feeling of family and a warm welcome overcomes anglers traveling to this unique and untouched part of the Earth.

The Rio Marie
This beautiful and remote river runs through the heart of the Amazon, providing over 600 miles of fishable water, 180 known creeks, 60 lakes, as well as 3 major tributaries. Staying on Untamed Angling’s state of the art and comfortable live aboard boat, the opportunity to explore these Amazon waters is within reach and will certainly be the trip of a lifetime. The Rio Marie’s guide staff consists of the 1% of guides around the world, assembled to research the water, record record size fish, and target species throughout a guests week stay on the live aboard. These guides intimately know each lake, creek, and every opportunity in between to ensure the most successful trip possible through these jungle rivers and terrain.
Through the consistent feedback from world class anglers, the Marie provides opportunities at the biggest peacock bass in the world. With great numbers, and the possibility of the fish of a lifetime, the Rio Marie is a fishery, and experience that any adventure angler should pursue for the 2022 season. Gunnison Gorge
The awe inspiring views, world class fishery, and possibility of going big on an oversized dry fly tight to the banks from a boat is what keeps us going back year after year to reconnect with friends, fish, and the outdoors in our Colorado home water of the famed Gunnison Gorge.
We have all heard of this fabled location, but often times logistics, timing, or lack of information in regards to consistency hinders one from taking the plunge to the basement of the earth. This year we have reserved boats for a May 28th launch, giving anglers the opportunity to fish historically consistent flows (with a possibility of Salmon Flies), while we can absolutely accommodate a launch date that works for 2 anglers schedule any time in the 2022 season, our reserved prime dates allow both single, as well as odd number anglers to reserve boats at no additional charge. Double occupancy or full boats not required.
This trip includes 3 days of guided fishing, meals, non alcoholic beverages, as well as a shuttle service from Pleasure Park to Chukar Trail, where your journey will begin.
This trip is priced at $1,850 per angler.
